Among the three TiNE titanium crank caps, the GP-3/Cybrei version saves the least weight: 3.2g, from a stock 15.3g down to 12.1g. That is the number. But numbers do not tell the whole story, because the crank cap sits on the outside face of the non-drive-side crank arm — it is one of the most visible components on the entire bike. A titanium cap with an anodized color finish turns a forgotten plastic disc into a visual accent that draws the eye.

Problem: The Stock Cap Is Functional, Not Finished

The GP-3 and Cybrei crank systems ship with a composite crank cap that does its job — it seals the spindle end and provides a thread for the crank bolt. But it is unfinished: a flat disc in matte black or gray, with no visual presence. On a bike where every other component has been selected for performance and appearance, the stock crank cap is a missed opportunity.

Solution: Titanium With Color

The TiNE replacement is CNC machined from Grade 5 Ti-6Al-4V and available in eight anodized colors. At 12.1g, it is 3.2g lighter than stock — a modest saving, but one that comes with a significant visual upgrade.
