Specialized Seatpost Clamp Bolt — TiNE Titanium 7.1g Opposed-Lock

The stock opposed-lock bolt on a Specialized Tarmac seatpost clamp head weighs roughly 19.5g — bolt and nut together. TiNE's titanium replacement drops that to 7.1g, saving roughly 12.4g. One bolt, one nut, one simple swap for SL6/SL7/SL8 direct-head posts.

TiNE vs Stock — What Changes

Metric Stock Steel TiNE Titanium
Single opposed-lock set (bolt + nut) ~19.5g 7.1g
Weight saved ~12.4g

Grade 5 Ti-6Al-4V, CNC-machined, anodized in eight colors. The opposed-lock design pairs bolt and nut — both thread from opposite sides of the clamp head for even saddle rail pressure.

Compatibility — Which Tarmac?

TiNE opposed-lock bolt set fits all Specialized Tarmac models with direct-head seatposts: SL6, SL7, and SL8. The clamp head shape is shared across these generations. If your post uses a round cradle clamp (older Roubaix, non-Tarmac), this set won't fit — check the saddle rail clamp shape before ordering.

Installation — Opposed-Lock Torque Sequence

Remove the stock bolt and nut from the seatpost clamp head. Thread the TiNE bolt through the clamp head from one side, with the titanium nut on the opposite side — opposed lock means both sides engage simultaneously. Tighten to roughly 4-6 Nm. The opposed-lock design distributes clamp pressure evenly across both saddle rails, preventing rail deformation. After final torque, verify the nut seats flush against the clamp head face — any visible gap means uneven preload.
