At 9.0g, the TiNE titanium headset cap for the EXS Aerover integrated handlebar is the heaviest cap in the TiNE lineup — but calling it "heavy" misses the point. It is the largest because the EXS Aerover bar demands a larger cap. The Aerover's aero-profile upper section requires a headset cap with a wider footprint than a standard round steerer tube, and the titanium cap at 9.0g reflects that larger geometry, not excess material.
For comparison: the universal round headset cap is 4.2g, the Tarmac SL8/SL9 cap is 6.0g, and the Pinarello 2025 cap is 8.2g. Each cap's weight is determined by the head tube shape it must cover — a round steerer needs the least material, a shaped aero head tube needs more, and the EXS Aerover's integrated aero profile needs the most.
| Headset Cap | TiNE Weight | Steerer/Head Tube |
| Universal Round | 4.2g | Standard round steerer |
| Tarmac SL8 / SL9 | 6.0g | Specialized shaped head tube |
| Pinarello 2025 | 8.2g | Pinarello aero-profile head tube |
| Pinarello 2021-2024 | 7.5g | Pinarello previous-gen head tube |
| EXS Aerover | 9.0g | EXS Aerover integrated aero bar |
The 4.8g gap between the universal round cap (4.2g) and the EXS Aerover cap (9.0g) is entirely explained by head tube geometry. A round steerer presents a small circular top face; the Aerover's integrated bar merges into a wide, shaped head tube that requires a cap spanning a larger surface area with a non-circular outline. The topology-optimized design removes material where the structural loads are low, but the minimum footprint is set by the bar shape.
The EXS Aerover headset cap is specific to the EXS Aerover integrated handlebar. It will not fit a standard round steerer, a Tarmac SL8/SL9, or any Pinarello model. The inverse is also true: no other TiNE headset cap will fit the Aerover bar. This is not a design choice — it is a geometric requirement. The Aerover's head tube shape defines the cap shape, and the cap shape defines the fit.
CNC machined from Grade 5 Ti-6Al-4V with topology optimization. Eight anodized colors available. The Aerover cap uses the same仿生拓扑美学 (biomimetic topology aesthetic) design language as the other TiNE headset caps — organic, load-path-informed shapes that look like they grew rather than were machined.
Quick Reference
EXS Aerover headset cap: 9.0g
Heaviest TiNE headset cap — required by the Aerover's wide aero head tube profile
4.8g heavier than universal round cap (4.2g) due to larger surface area
Specific to EXS Aerover integrated handlebar — not interchangeable
Material: Grade 5 Ti-6Al-4V, topology-optimized, CNC, 8 anodized colors
